African American Little Girls Hairstyles

type='html'>

Being able to style your girl’s hair is one of the joys of being a parent.  Especially before they become pre-teens and are, de facto, too cool for you, there are lots of different ways that you can experience with your girl’s hair.  For the most part, children are given more license for outrageous hairstyles than are adults.  At the same time, while an adult style might look good on a girl, a lot of little girl styles don’t translate to adult.  Because of these reasons as well as the amazing versatility of African American hair, there are many African American little girls hairstyles that you can try out on your child.
There are some styles that work on both young girls and adult.  For instance, any kind of micro braiding will look good, no matter your age.  This style still lets you put your daughter’s hair in pigtails or a thicker braid as well.  It won’t get tangled and is easier to keep clean.  The same goes for cornrows.  You can put these in your child’s hair and enjoy a cute, but low maintenance style that you can keep in for a month or more.
However, there is something to be said for barrettes.  If you don’t want to spend money at a salon for professional braiding, you can put in a dozen or so larger braids at home.  Just secure the ends of each one with a plastic barrette.  Because you don’t have to worry about the braids coming out, you can even change the color of the barrettes every day to coordinate with your daughter’s outfit.  You can also use colorful rubber bands to secure her hair into three or more ponytails.  Usually a single ponytail of natural hair will be too poofy.  However, three ponytails look cute on little girls.  A lot of times you can even put rubber bands at different areas of the ponytail so that it will keep down the poofiness.
Depending on the length of your girl’s hair, you can gather it up on the crown of her head.  Then you can use some of her barrettes to clip sections of it down until it is a smaller and more manageable bun.  These are just a few examples of African American little girls hairstyles that you can try out on your daughter.  You are free to let your imagination run wild.
